Using your own domain

I was researching transferring this blog to my website when I discovered that Blogger will let you point your domain to your blog so it looks as if it's being hosted on its own site! The benefits of at least looking like your host is on its own domain is that advertisers prefer that to blogs that are maintained on free sites such as Blogger. So I was all excited about this little discovery when I realized that even if I did that, I'd still have to follow Blogger rules in regards the content of my blog. Since I don't want to have any limitations on how I can make money blogging, I'm going to stick with my plan of eventually moving this blog to its own domain - Guide to Internet Income. Looking at different hosting packages, I came across Host Monster. Feature rich and really cheap. Pretty good reviews, so I think I'll go with them. - Maria

Starting to take shape

One thing that makes sense out of everything I've read so far is that at some point, you've got to stop reading and take some action. And since I've decided that in the long run, it would be better for income purposes if this blog was on its own domain, I did a little research yesterday on some hosting companies. I think I'll go with InMotion. The price is really reasonable for the services they provide and they've gotten great reviews. I'll let you know when I make the move. Toodles, lol.

Information overload

If I'm ever going to make money online, I've got to learn to focus! I've got all these guides, a lot of them with great ideas. The problem is, I read about something new to try and get all gung ho on doing it. Then while I'm online implementing what I've learned, I run into something new that gets me going and I fail to complete what I originally had set out to do, lol. Focus, focus, focus, Maria! Lol, someday I'll get the hang of this.

Getting organized

Well, I've taken my first steps towards organizing all the information I've acquired regarding how to make money on the internet. I bought one of those portable USB sticks and am beginning to sift through all those ebooks and programs I've accumulated over the years. For now, I'm just downloading the ebooks that I feel really provide good content - ebooks I think I can actually learn something from. On a personal note, it's my daughters 16th bday! Time to celebrate. Ya'll have a great day.

What to do with all this information

Real world break to pop in and post. Since I started this blog a year or so ago, I've never stopped taking in information on how to make money on the internet. I've got so much information, I don't know where to start or even how to organize it. And everytime I get out here on the internet and do a little surfing, I come across even more information that I can't help but add to my already huge monstrosity of a mess! It's unbelievable how much you can learn, and for me, it's all been free! I see those guru books telling you how they'll show you how to make a quick buck, but I don't believe it's that easy. Especially for someone like you and me - your average Joe and Jane. There's no doubt that there is useful info out there. It's digging through the dirt to get to the treasures that's time consuming and laborious. The other problem I have is deciding whether or not I should take this blog to its own domain. Everyone says it's be

I'm baaaaack :-)

Well it's been over a year now since I got my medical records review job, and now that I'm all settled in, I think I'll take up my quest to make money online and start posting to this blog again. I temporarily shut down my site to focus on my new job, but kept the domain name and plan on getting it up and running again eventually. In the meantime, I've got a lot of reading to do. If there's anything I've learned so far, it's that making money online is hard work! And I'm not talking about the pocket change you can earn from surf and clicks or filling out surveys. I want to join the ranks of those who are bringing in passive income from their sites. Well, bye for now. - Maria
