An alternative to Google's NonSense

Well since I got the boot from AdSense, I'm on the hunt for another way to monetize my blog and website. I came across an ad network called Kontera and their product is called ContentLink.

Like other forms of contextual advertising, Kontera's software is able to crawl the pages of your site and deliver ads that should be of interest to your readers. These ads show up on your site as in line text that is double underlined. When a reader mouses over these keywords, the ad appears.

Kontera does have some qualifying requirements which your blog or website must meet in order to be accepted as a publisher. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure I can't meet the minimum 250,000 page impressions per month at this time. Not sure how strict they are on this, as I have come across other bloggers who put their applications in without meeting this requirement and have still been approved.

Guess for now, I'll stick with AdBrite.

Becoming an internet entrepreneur

Whew ... This is harder than I thought it would be.  There are so many ways to make money online, I find myself getting sidetracked and chasing rabbits down paths that I wouldn't normally take.  Shortcuts for getting members to opt in, setting up an autoblog, viral links for traffic . . .  It's so easy to lose focus when you're bombarded with eye-catching, emotion grabbing headlines that promise to fulfill your deep desire to become a successful internet entrepreneur "Instantly" and just by following "these simple steps."  I've realized that I'm putting the cart before the horse.  I'm nowhere close to having my site up and running yet I'm already looking at ways to get traffic to it, lol.  "Whoa there, girlfriend!"  Reality check. What to do with all this information

Real world break to pop in and post. Since I started this blog a year or so ago, I've never stopped taking in information on how to make money on the internet. I've got so much information, I don't know where to start or even how to organize it. And everytime I get out here on the internet and do a little surfing, I come across even more information that I can't help but add to my already huge monstrosity of a mess! It's unbelievable how much you can learn, and for me, it's all been free! I see those guru books telling you how they'll show you how to make a quick buck, but I don't believe it's that easy. Especially for someone like you and me - your average Joe and Jane. There's no doubt that there is useful info out there.
