Traffic, Traffic, I need Traffic

In an effort to get more eyeballs to my site, I joined a few traffic exchanges. Over time, some proved to be worth the effort and others were not so effective. One of the best ones so far has been ClickPirate. I've gotten a steady stream from them. I also like Traffic Swarm, the traffic is more targeted since users get to pick which site they want to view. I dropped Traffic Soldiers and Top Surfer because neither one of them sent many hits my way. And Top Surfer bombards your inbox with emails from its members.

Any recommendations for good traffic exchanges?

I personally havent had much luck with traffic exchanges and believe they are (mostly) a waste of time, you are better off spending the time commenting on other peoples sites and exchanging links because this is what will get you real and repeat visitors via google search results and referrals. Plus the effect is ongoing instead of temporary.

Do you mean you haven't had much luck profiting from the traffic you've been getting or are you not getting much traffic at all? What traffic exchanges are you using? Thanks.
Seems like both methods have their place. One of my sites, http://interpreterworld.blogspot.com , gets most of its hits from BlogSoldiers.com. My Portuguese site, http://possuaainternet.blogspot.com, gets hits from search engines and posts on Brazilian services like Orkut. I think you have to do a little bit of everything, plus make sure your headlines get your attention clean and quick, like the one I have up here: http://money-insider.blogspot.com/2007/01/want-traffic-5-reasons-you-should-leave.html

I wish you both luck. Oh, yeah, to the other guy who left the first comment: try BlogSoldiers.com.

Have a nice day!

No profit from them - I was getting the hits, just not anything else. I used Blog explosion and Blog mad (it was a while ago now) I found that although it made the stats look good, that was all... they were reading my blog because it was placed in front of them for 20 seconds, not because they were interested in it, however that is just my experience and others may have found more value from them.

There are a couple of blog related traffic exchanges such as blogexplosion.com, blogmad.net and blogadvance.com. I get the most traffic from blogmad.net but use all 3.

Is it true that using traffic exchange sites is against the TOS of google adsense? Can any body clear me on this things?

Yup, its againtst google adsense TOS. It is considered incentive-based traffic which is prohibited.
